NSRTC Black History Month Tributes

The North Salem Republican Town Committee honors Black History month. Thurgood Marshall was the first black Supreme Court justice, and who was a fierce supporter of the equal rights of all citizens. Quick tidbit. Did you know he legally changed his first name from Thoroughgood to Thurgood as a child because of name teasing? In hindsight, his parents got it right as he was thoroughly good, and left an iconic civil rights legacy that helped create a more perfect union.
