Carolyn Aversano and Kurt Guldan for Board of Education
News flash: There is a School District election on Tuesday, May 16th and it is an important one for the future of the North Salem Central School District. I’ll be voting for Carolyn Aversano and Kurt Guldan for Board Trustees in addition to supporting the budget and the security referendum. Carolyn and Kurt are experienced, highly effective advocates for education. Carolyn previously served on the North Salem Board for two years (2013-15), one as President. She also served as a trustee for Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES, which serves 18 school districts including North Salem. Carolyn has been extremely effective in engaging parents on curriculum, technology and other important issues. Kurt is a two-term incumbent to the Board. He also serves as the emergency management coordinator for North Salem and is very knowledgeable about safety and emergency management. Both understand the role of an effective Board member (particularly as we transition to a new Superintendent) and both can hit the ground running on day one of their terms. Both are thoughtful, compassionate, fiscally responsible leaders who seek out new ideas and perspectives, consider all possible outcomes and arrive at purposeful evidence-based decisions. Without question, they are approachable and genuinely committed to maintaining a high-quality educational experience for our students. Please join me in voting for Carolyn Aversano and Kurt Guldan on Tuesday.
