Recommendation

Let’s never forget this day in history!

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of The North Salem Post management or staff.

The North Salem Republican Town Committee would like everyone to remember those 2,403 souls who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. Early that Sunday morning the Japanese air force attacked our naval installation in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Those who perished in the attack were members of the Army, Navy, and Marines, along with civilians. In our time, we remember the 911 attack on the World Trade Center. To the last generation, this was their 911. To understand how people felt at that time, recall how we felt on September 11, 2001. We still hold commemoration ceremonies for the 911 attack. Let’s not forget what the last generation suffered through. Let’s also remember we are living during uncertain times where the uneasy peace we are experiencing could be shattered just as quickly. If you see a member of our military on the street, thank them for their service. If you see a congressman on the street, tell them to support our military.
