Lauren Rankel is a new resident of North Salem, but has already fallen hopelessly in love with the town and all the wonderful neighbors she has met. Born and raised on Long Island, Rankel raised her own family of two daughters, along with husband, Stephen, and several flocks of chickens. She taught preschool for 20 years focusing on the integration of STEAM concepts and learning from the natural world around us. Since moving to North Salem, she has joined the Recreation Board, leads the Little Sprouts Nature Group, teaches Pre-K and family programming at Railyard Arts Studio, and is the new advisor for the Writer’s Group at Ruth Keeler Library. She has published several articles on parenting and education, as well as, self-published the book “We Can All Be Helpers” during the pandemic to help children ease the fear of masks.
