Tuesday, June 28 is the first of two Primary Days for registered voters in New York State. The June primary covers the state’s governor, lieutenant governor and State Assembly races. The second primary will take place on August 23, for congressional and state senate elections plus special elections for New York Congressional District 19 and the lieutenant governor.
In the June primary, registered Republican voters will choose which of four candidates for governor will appear on the ballot in November’s general election. Registered Democratic voters will choose from three candidates for governor. The winner of the primaries for governor and lieutenant governor from each party will be on the ballot in the general election November 8.
