North Salem High School’s class of 2022 had one last thing to do before graduating: going back to where it all began. On Wednesday morning, NSHS seniors took a field trip to Pequenakonck Elementary School for the annual ‘Senior Walk,’ a tradition that brings the K-12 experience full circle for North Salem Central School District students.
Clad in clothing representing where they’re headed next, NSHS seniors paraded through the halls of PQ–the place where many of them began their education–waving goodbye to students and faculty who had lined up to celebrate them.
Some PQ students held up signs of congratulations. Others stuck their hands out for high fives from their older peers.
For the seniors, the walk was a literal trip down memory lane, as they saw the classrooms where they had formed lifelong friendships, the desks where they had learned to read and write and the teachers who had taught and encouraged them along the way.
