Motorcycle-SUV accident on Starr Ridge Road in Brewster sends 8 to area hospitals

An SUV and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Starr Ridge Road and Star Lea Road at the border of Brewster and North Salem just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening, sending eight people to the hospital, including six children.

The motorcycle rider was transported by North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, with a Putnam County medic onboard, to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The driver of the SUV and her six children were transported by both Brewster Ambulance and North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps ambulances to Danbury Hospital.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Troopers, Brewster Fire Department, and Croton Falls Fire Department all responded to the incident.

Emergency crews closed Starr Ridge Road between Bloomer Road in North Salem and Ryder Farm in Brewster while they responded to the accident. The road was reopened by 7:10 p.m. Sunday.
