Can you believe it? It's already mid-May, and we are fast approaching the unofficial start of summer. With warmer temperatures finally here, it's a great time to be outside. Right here in North Salem, the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is holding its annual fundraising event - the three-day Library Fair. Festivities kick off Friday night and will run all weekend long. In nearby Patterson, Putnam Service Dogs will host quite possibly the most adorable event of the weekend - the 4th annual Funminster Dog Show. Drop by to spot the fluffiest dog, best ears, best tail and a whole lot of furry fun.
That and more are all included in our weekend roundup. Scroll down for our top picks.

A wonderful North Salem tradition.
Every May the book, bake and plant sale begins with a fundraising cocktail party on Friday night at 6:30 at the library. Trustees and community members make and serve the hors d’oeuvres and drinks and supply the music. The trustees provide the wine, beer, champagne and act as bartenders. Martin Aronchick is providing music; the Golden's Bridge Hounds is lending us a tent; trustees are putting up sparking lights, and a good time will be had by all. [more details]
