The North Salem High School Athletic Department and North Salem Athletic Booster Club co-hosted a “College Bound Recognition Day” on Monday, May 9 to honor those graduating seniors who are going on to play sports at the collegiate level next fall.
In an afternoon ceremony emceed by athletic director Denise Kiernan at the North Salem High School gym, Isabelle Conley, Kaitlyn DeModna, John D'Innocenzo and Robert Gilchrist Jr. were all recognized for their contributions to North Salem High School sports over the past four years and congratulated for the athletic careers that await them at their respective universities next fall.
Isabelle Conley, a girls varsity lacrosse player, will play for Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts. Westfield competes at the Division III level, with membership in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. At North Salem High School, Conley most recently trained under head coach Don Merriman.
Kaitlyn DeModna, a girls varsity field hockey player, will play for Salisbury University in Maryland. Salisbury competes at the Division III level, with membership in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference. At North Salem High School, DeModna trained under head coach Jen Frohman.
John D'Innocenzo, a boys varsity baseball player, will play for SUNY New Paltz. SUNY New Paltz competes at the Division III level, with membership in the SUNY Athletic Conference. At North Salem, D’Innocenzo trained under head coach Rob Gilchrist.
Robert Gilchrist Jr., a boys varsity baseball player, will play for Pace University. Pace competes at the Division II level, with membership in the Northeast-10 Conference. At North Salem, Gilchrist trained under his father and head coach Rob Gilchrist.
