A fire broke out in the area of 185 Mills Road in North Salem just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. (Benjamin Allen / HudValley Photo)
Multiple area fire departments, including the Croton Falls Fire Department, were dispatched to the area of 185 Mills Road just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in response to a brush fire. An area of approximately 200 feet by 50 feet was aflame and moving rapidly.
Upon arrival, Croton Falls assistant fire chief Jeff Daday reported that the area of the fire was approximately 200 feet by 50 feet and heading in the direction of a structure. Brewster, South Salem, Goldens Bridge, Somers, Pound Ridge and Mount Kisco fire departments all responded to the scene to assist.
The fire was extinguished and crews cleared by 3:00 p.m. The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
