The North Salem Lions Club will host its 55th anniversary and charity golf outing August 29 at Salem Golf Club in North Salem. The event, which is open to all community members, will raise money for local families in need as well as for two charities-- the New Dawn Resource Center, which provides programs and services for victims of abuse, and Cooley's Anemia Foundation, which advances treatment and cure for the genetic blood disorder
thalassemia.

The full-day outing will include a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch, buffet dinner along with friendly golf competition throughout the day, including 4-person best ball contest, longest drive and closest to the pin.  New this year is a 3-par hole-in-one contest. The winner will be eligible for a new car lease, sponsored by BMW of Ridgefield.

The buffet dinner will include awards, raffle prizes, and a silent auction to help raise additional charitable funds.
