The North Salem Youth Lacrosse Club announced that registration is now open for the 2022 spring season. Children in Kindergarten through grade 6 are eligible to participate.
Boys and girls in grades K-2 will participate in a weekly clinic held Saturday mornings at either Joe Bohrdrum Park or Volunteers Park in North Salem. Full lacrosse equipment is required for each player. The $155 fee includes a uniform. “The K-2 clinic is a great option for those families that are looking for the clinic format and a one day per week commitment,” said Brian Sable, member of the NSYL board.
Boys and girls in grades 3 - 6 will compete on teams combined by grade level (3/4 and 5/6) Teams participate in two practices per week and one game per week, which may fall on a practice day. Game schedules are currently being finalized.
Sable said that the club is actively seeking volunteer coaches for all age levels. “The girls 3rd/4th grade team and girls 5th/6th grade teams do not have coaches. If we don’t have a coach, we can’t have a season,” he said.
All participating children must have an active US Lacrosse membership in order to participate. The fee is $30 per child and is valid for one year.
