Following an email sent to North Salem Middle/High School families Tuesday evening alerting them to a potential threat directed toward a group of high school students, NSHS principal Vince DiGrandi followed up Wednesday morning saying that local police determined there is no credible threat to students at this time.

In an email sent at 9:27 Wednesday morning, DiGrandi said, “the individual who participated in this act has been identified and based on the information provided by the police, it was determined that there is no credible threat to any North Salem students at this time. The Westchester County and North Salem Police will continue their investigation as part of their procedures."

DiGrandi provided no additional information about the threat, citing the ongoing police investigation. A spokesperson for the Westchester County Department of Public Safety could not be reached for comment.

“Please know that we take all threats to students, staff, our schools, and District seriously and leverage police involvement immediately for the safety of all,” DiGrandi said.
