Another frigid winter weekend is ahead of us. While hunkering down at home with warm blankets and hot drinks is always a good option at this time of year, if you’re looking to shake things up (exiting quarantine, anyone?) we’ve pulled together some fun local options that will get you out and about. From school spirit on the hardwood to natural serenity on the ice, below are our top picks for this mid-January weekend.

Cheer on your North Salem Tigers
The North Salem Athletic Booster Club is hosting its annual basketball tournament this weekend to help raise funds to support North Salem student athletes. The boys play Friday night and both boys and girls teams will compete for the championship on Saturday at the North Salem High School gym.
Friday, January 14; 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, January 15; 10:00 a.m.

Get icy at Muscoot Farm
Muscoot Farm is hosting “All About Ice,” a family-friendly program that teaches the role that ice played at Muscoot Farm. Participants will walk to the farm’s ice pond for a demonstration. Registration is required.
Saturday, January 15; 1:00 p.m.

Support Wolf Conservation
North Salem resident and curator of the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem Rebecca Bose is the featured community member at Hayfields Market this month. Stop by to learn all about wolves and make a donation to support the cause.
Throughout the month of January

Have some laughs at Tilly’s Table
How long has it been since you had a good laugh? The hilarious trio of Buddy Fitzpatrick, Marion Grodin and Frank Becerra will host the Funny Farm at Tilly’s Table in Brewster this Friday and Saturday nights. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is served from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and showtime starts at 8:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, January 14 and 15; 6:30 p.m.

Have more laughs at the Ridgefield Playhouse
Iconic comedian Brian Regan is hosting three nights of comedy at the Ridgefield Playhouse beginning Thursday, January 13. Vanity Fair called Regan, “the funniest stand-up alive.”
Friday and Saturday, January 14 and 15; 8:00 p.m.

Catch a flick at The Prospector
What better way to pass a cold winter's day than with a movie and a tub of popcorn? The Prospector Theater in Ridgefield has something for everyone right now. The non-profit theater is currently showing Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sing 2 and Scream.
Friday through Sunday; show times vary.
