Twenty wreaths have been decorated and hung by the library with care, but only three will come full circle and take home a prize in the North Salem Recreation Department - Ruth Keeler Memorial Library 2nd Annual Wreath Decorating Contest.

From Monday, December 20 through Sunday, January 2, wreaths decorated by community members will be on display outside the Keeler Library. Contest hosts encourage town residents to drive-by with their families to see the beautiful wreaths and to vote online for their favorites in the People’s Choice category.

“The contest has been another great community-wide event, with many creative families participating,” said Lauren Rosasco, recreation leader for the Town of North Salem. Wreath designs include traditional, floral, sports-themed, inspirational and even a Harry Potter-inspired submission. Several entrants were from children; the youngest contest entrant is just six years old.

Prizes will be awarded in three categories: People’s Choice, Most Creative and Best Theme. Prizes were donated by the North Salem Lions Club, Ruth Keeler Memorial Library and the North Salem Recreation Department.
