The Gallery at Yellow Studio in Cross River will kick off the autumn exhibition season with What It Leaves, a showcase of artwork by Courtney Alan Rossy, a Bedford-based artist. Rossy's abstract paintings, which delve into the themes of memory and perception, will be on view from September 9 through October 13. An opening reception will take place Saturday, September 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Rossy draws inspiration from her experiences immersed in the natural landscapes of the local area, where she contemplates the intricate complexities that encompass us. Each of her paintings mirrors her fascination with the interwoven relationships between humanity and the environment. Through layers of paint, texture, and dynamic strokes, Rossy captures lingering moments and their lasting energy, evoking a sense of being fully immersed in nature. This approach encourages viewers to engage deeply and actively with the artwork, prompting them to explore its depths.
