Many local towns are hosting July 4th fireworks and live performances in honor of Independence Day. We rounded up the festivities that are happening within a 20-minute drive of North Salem. Here’s what’s coming up:
Pound Ridge Fireworks
Saturday, July 1
Pound Ridge Fireworks will take place Saturday, July 1 in the Town Park (199 Westchester Ave). Activities kick off at 4:30 p.m. with live music and food trucks. Parking permits are available from the Pound Ridge Police Department, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Permits are free for Pound Ridge residents and $30 for non-residents.
Town of Southeast Fireworks Extravaganza (Southeast)
Sunday, July 2
The Town of Southeast’s annual fireworks show kicks off with a DJ starting at 6:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to use the parking lots in the Highlands Shopping Center, with the parking lot near Kohl’s as the best place to view the show. Fireworks will start at 9:30. Additional parking will be available at the Southeast Train Station Parking Lot with Trolley Service available to the Kohl’s Parking Lot.
Ridgefield Fireworks 2023 (Ridgefield, CT)
Sunday, July 2
Locals are encouraged to celebrate our country’s independence at the Town of Ridgefield Fireworks on Sunday, July 2 at Ridgefield High School. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and fireworks begin at dusk.
Parking passes are $20 per car and can be purchased online. Only one ticket is necessary per car. Parking is available at Ridgefield High School, Scotts Ridge Middle School, Barlow Mountain and Scotland Elementary. Shuttle buses will be provided from the Elementary Schools to the High School. Handicap parking is also provided at the high school. Those who use the available parking must have their printed order confirmation or ticket on their dashboard and ready at the gate. Tickets are needed at the gate whether or not you have a parked car at the high school.

Pops & Patriots at Caramoor (Katonah)
Sunday, July 2
Caramoor Center for Music & the Arts invites locals to celebrate Independence Day at their lush outdoor live music venue. The Westchester Symphonic Winds will perform their annual tribute to America’s independence with a program that includes The Star-Spangled Banner, Sousa’s The Stars and Stripes Forever, and a Broadway medley performed by alumni of our Schwab Vocal Rising Stars program.
Kensico Dam Plaza (Valhalla)
Monday, July 3
Mesmerizing fireworks light up the night sky during the annual Music Fest & Fireworks at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla on Monday, July 3, 2023.
Pre-concert entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with a guest DJ followed by the FDR Drive Band at 7 p.m. Spectacular fireworks, with the historic Kensico Dam as the backdrop, will follow at about 9:15 p.m.
Admission and parking are free. Carpooling is suggested. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating as well as a picnic supper.
The annual Music Fest & Fireworks are presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by Westchester Parks Foundation with support from Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.
