North Salem High School’s Class of 2023 had one last thing to do before graduating last week: reflect on where it all began. On Wednesday morning, NSHS seniors took a field trip to Pequenakonck Elementary School for the annual ‘Senior Walk,’ a tradition that brings the K-12 experience full circle for North Salem Central School District students.

Cubby, PQ’s Tiger Cub mascot, was the parade’s grand marshal, leading the seniors into the building and through the halls.

As the students made their way through the building–the place where many of them began their education–current PQ students waved, cheered and gave high fives, some holding signs of encouragement.

Faculty members also lined the halls, and some students stopped to give a hug to those teachers who had made a significant impact on their education and their lives.

Many of the seniors wore shirts representing where they’re headed next, giving PQ students inspiration for all they could someday accomplish, too.

Before boarding the buses back to the High School, the Class of 2023 paused for one last group picture in front of PQ.
