The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that it will supplement early Friday afternoon service with additional trains to help New Yorkers get an early start on the three-day weekend. For Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, Metro-North will run on a weekend/Sunday schedule. Customers are advised to check any of the MTA’s multiple communications channels listed below before traveling.
On Friday, May 26, Metro-North will operate nine extra afternoon trains on its East of Hudson and West of Hudson lines to accommodate customers heading out early for the three-day weekend. Some trains between 5:25 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. will be canceled to best reallocate equipment and accommodate Memorial Day weekend travel patterns.
