The League of Women Voters of Northeast Westchester will moderate a candidate forum Tuesday evening for the contenders running for seats on the North Salem Central School District Board of Education. There are four candidates running for two school board seats: Carolyn Aversano, Christopher Jaeger, Kurt Guldan and Matthew DeRose.

The candidate forum will take place in the North Salem Middle/High School library beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. North Salem Central School District residents are encouraged to attend and to bring questions for the candidates. The forum will be livestreamed and made available afterward for on-demand viewing prior to Election Day.

Guldan is the only incumbent candidate; current Board of Ed president Andrew Brown announced earlier this year that he would not seek re-election. Candidates elected to the open seats will serve three year terms that run from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026.

Voting will take place Tuesday, May 16 at Pequenakonck Elementary School. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
