The North Salem Improvement Society is accepting applications for its NSIS Scholarship, an award that recognizes North Salem high school students who share the organization’s ideals for creating a positive impact on the town and community. The winning applicant will demonstrate that their activities have, in some way, improved life in North Salem.

The North Salem Improvement Society was founded in 1931 and over the years has sponsored town-wide clean ups, the annual Christmas eve celebration, and e-waste disposal. Most recently, the organization has taken strides to educate town residents on how to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
