We're closing out the month of February this weekend. In honor of Black History Month, the North Salem Republican Town Committee is hosting a free event featuring Jim Coleman. The Keeler Library is hosting three free events: a conversation with its directors, a conversation with local gardeners and a graphic novel workshop.

Elsewhere in our area, the Open Land Foundation invites volunteers to join it for vine cutting, Yellow Studio is hosting a screenprinting workshop, photographers (and aspiring photographers) are invited to a black & white photography hike at Ward Pound Ridge, there's wines to sample at Folkways Wines and so much more. What will you get up to this weekend?

Yellow Studio: A Surprisingly Simple Screenprinting Primer - Fri Feb 24 6:00 pm

This 3-hr workshop will arm you with the knowledge and materials you need to begin your own printmaking journey. Whether you want to make abstract prints on paper or print text onto t-shirts, you’ll go home knowing how to do it. Participants will create their own stencil on a reusable screen and use water-based inks to explore fundamental printmaking techniques. Workshop fee includes your own screen, squeegee, and stencil medium. We will provide both paper and fabric substrates for printing. [more details]


North Salem Open Land Foundation: Vine Cutting at Weil Preserve - Sat Feb 25 9:30 am

Keeler Library: Conversation with Local Gardeners - Sat Feb 25 10:00 am

Conversation with Local Gardeners meets monthly on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 am. Bring your questions and ideas to this informal group of local expert garden enthusiasts. Please check the web page to see if it is meeting by zoom or in person.
