The North Salem High School girls varsity team did their part to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research this month by participating in the ‘Dunk Pink’ fundraising event. Held over the course of two home games, the girls decked themselves out in pink, packed the stands at the North Salem High School gym and played their hearts out for charity.

In the first ‘Dunk Pink’ game on Friday, February 3, the girls faced off against a tough Putnam Valley team. The Tigers suffered a bruising 70-34 loss, but kept their spirits up as they stayed focused on the cause.

The next day, the Tigers found redemption on the road. While not a Dig Pink game, the girls regained their mojo when senior Emma Zoubok drained a buzzer beater to top Tuckahoe 58-55. SaraFina DiPaola scored 19 points in that game, followed by Jaiden Donovan with 18 points.

The girls closed out the Dig Pink series on Tuesday, February 7 at home. The team was treated to a heroes welcome of high fives from North Salem Youth Basketball’s girls players. It was also senior night; the team celebrated four seniors: Carolyne Barrella, Emma Zoubok, Dana Connolly, and Mia Santis, manager.
