More than 140 North Salem girls and their special guests enjoyed a memorable evening on Friday, February 3 when Girl Scout Cadette Troop 02950 hosted their annual “Snowflake Ball.” The event invites local girls in grades K-6 to enjoy a fancy night out with a special adult in their life.

This year’s event took place at the Sheet Metal Union Hall in Brewster. Attendees enjoyed music from DJ Joey C (aka Joseph Carricato), cupcakes and other sweet treats, a photo booth from A Perfect Blend Entertainment, and more.

Martina Henry, a North Salem parent and Girl Scout troop leader who organized the event, said it was “a huge success,” and credited the various local organizations and vendors who came together to make the night special for North Salem’s girls.

“I would like to personally thank the Sheet Metal Union Hall for being such an incredible venue. Thank you to the North Salem Lions Club and Pequenakonck Elementary School for helping us get the word out,” Henry said. “We are also so incredibly grateful to Benjamin Allen from HudValley Photo, who donated his time to capture each and every girl and their special guest.”

Henry also credited Heather Zamparelli from Heart 2 Table Events for helping transform the hall into a beautiful, festive party atmosphere, and Pat Roza of Forget Me Not Cupcakes for providing the cupcakes and cake pops.

“This dance is a non-profit event and relies heavily on volunteers as well,” Henry said. “It would not have been possible without the help of the following people: cadettes in troop 2676 and the moms of cadette troop 02950: Suzanne Moore, Lisa Bain, Maureen Carroll, Jennifer Molloy and Donna Varga.”
