This weekend we close out January with a range of activities that can help keep the winter blues away. The BYSNS ice hockey team will play both Friday and Sunday. North Salem Open Land Foundation is hosting a landscape photography workshop, and both the Trailside Nature Museum and Muscoot Farm are leaning into winter with family-friendly activities that are all about the great outdoors. What will you get up to this weekend?

Join us at Weil Preserve for a one-day introductory landscape photography class. Learn the basics of landscape photography from lenses and filters to composition and editing, then head outside to put it all to use. Bring your digital camera, lenses, and tripod (if available). This class is led by Tim Middlebrook, an experienced photographer with more than 40-years of experience photographing weddings, special events and landscape. Class size is limited; registration is required. [more details]

Lewisboro Land Trust is excited to continue our series of four season hikes that will inspire participants to interact with the natural world while exploring the art of poetry. Join Nicholas Lung-Bugenski–local father, educator, and nature enthusiast–for this unique outdoor program. Are you curious about trail running but nervous to try it on your own?Join us for a special "introduction to trail running" event at Leon Levy Preserve in South Salem! We'll give you the scoop on how to run the trails in this area safely and confidently (Hint: We walk a lot of the hills!). This is an all-levels run; no runner left behind.
