Town organizations to host classes/workshops for youth and adults

North Salem organizations, including the Recreation Department and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps, are hosting upcoming classes and clinics for youth and adults over the next couple months.

North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps

CPR Training
The North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps is hosting a CPR training course on Thursday, February 2 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ambulance Corps building in North Salem. Participants will be trained on adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, and how to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Cost is $75 per person. Town of North Salem Recreation Department

Winter Mini-Camp
The Rec Department, in partnership with Saints Athletics, is hosting a mini-camp for children in grades K-6 during the winter break. The session runs February 21 through February 23 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Pequenakonck Elementary School gym. An all-sport camp is available for K-5 students and a basketball camp for students in grades 3-6.

Sports Squirts
For North Salem’s youngest residents, the Rec. Department released a schedule of spring classes. Hosted by the US Sports Institute, classes for toddlers through kindergarteners include:

  • Multi-Sport Mondays (ages 2&3 with parent or caregiver; ages 3&4; ages 5&6)
  • T-Ball Sundays (ages 2&3 with parent or caregiver; ages 3&4)
  • Soccer Sundays (ages 3&4)

Classes begin the week of 4/17 and run through the week of 6/18.

Babysitting
The Rec Department is offering a babysitter’s training course at the North Salem firehouse on Saturday, March 4 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students must be 11 or older. All students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Pickleball Juniors
Kids age 7 and up can learn the fundamentals of this fast-growing sport through classes offered at the Pickleball Barn at Hardscrabble Club. Classes start the week of February 7 and run for 6 weeks.
