Carminucci Wealth Management announced that North Salem resident George Collins, the firm’s director of new business development, recently earned the Certified Retirement Counselor certification from the International Foundation for Retirement Education.

To earn the CRC ® certification, Collins spent close to 100 hours in preparation before sitting for a four-hour exam. His certification adheres him to the CRC ® Code of Ethics and a commitment to completing 15 hours of annual continuing education. CRC ® certificants represent a distinct group of qualified retirement professionals among the many retirement-related designations available today.

As a Certified Retirement Counselor, Collins is versed in the process of building a retirement nest egg and is responsible for advocating to his clients the benefits of long-term financial planning.

Collins, who grew up in North Salem, began his career following in his father’s footsteps as a member of the Metallic Lathers/Reinforcing Ironworkers Local Union 46 NYC. He went on to a near 20-year career as a Journeyman Ironworker and held several Executive Board positions within the union. Notably, Collins served as general foreman on the Freedom Tower in downtown Manhattan.

When Collins is not drumming up new business for Carminucci Wealth Management, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife Krista and their five children.
