Writers wanted for the North Salem Post

The North Salem Post is seeking contributing writers to join our team. We’re looking for local residents with a passion for writing and who are interested in keeping their neighbors informed about what’s happening around town. These are paid, part-time, flexible positions. Specifically, we’re looking for:

Writer to cover North Salem schools

This person would attend North Salem Central School District Board of Ed meetings twice per month and share updates with the community on these meetings. Board of Ed meetings are typically scheduled for every other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School/High School. This writer would be responsible for publishing two reported articles per month.

Writer to cover North Salem town government

This person would attend Town of North Salem public meetings, including the Town Board and Planning Board, and share updates with the community on these meetings. Town of North Salem public meetings typically happen every other week on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday during evening hours. This writer would be responsible for publishing two reported articles per month.

Feature writer to share stories of interest about North Salem residents & business owners

This person would identify and interview North Salem residents who are doing interesting things and/or have interesting stories to tell, for feature stories to run in The North Salem Post. This writer would be responsible for publishing two reported feature stories per month.
