Caramoor Center for Music & the Arts to present holiday programs
Katonah's Caramoor Center for Music & The Arts is hosting a trio of holiday programs in the Music Room of the Rosen House. Individuals and families can select from Caramoor’s ever-popular holiday teas, award-winning German a cappella group Calmus, and a family concert with musician, storyteller and educator Reggie Harris.
Calmus - Saturday, December 10
Vocal ensemble Calmus is known for its charming stage presence and flawless technique. Their program includes Christmas songs from around the world, from the 11th century to the present day, performed a cappella.
Show times: 3:00 p.m.. and 5:00 p.m.
Family Concert: Reggie Harris - Sunday, December 11
Reggie Harris brings an uplifting concert of songs and stories about the Underground Railroad. The program celebrates the quest for freedom and holiday joy, as Harris shares how the winter holidays offered a moment of hope–and a rare opportunity to escape–for enslaved people. The 4:00 p.m. performance is specially designed for families and people of any age who are neurodivergent, have sensory sensitivities, or just need a bit more space to enjoy the music. At this concert Caramoor is changing the “rules” for the comfort of its guests - raising the concert lighting, letting people stretch out and move around as well as training staff on sensory sensitivities and how to work with audiences with differing levels of comfort so that everyone feels supported and welcome.
Show times: 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Holiday Tea Musicale - Wednesday, December 14
Get in the holiday spirit at Caramoor’s historic Rosen House. Take part in the annual holiday tradition and enjoy charismatic musicians, festive decorations, and tea service in the Music Room. Following the performance, tea service includes an assortment of finger sandwiches, holiday treats, and a variety of teas (or hot chocolate with marshmallows for children). This program is currently accepting wait list only.
Time: 2:00 p.m.
