With the holidays approaching, several local artist spaces and small businesses are hosting workshops to help you tap into your creative energies while decorating your home for the season. From fall florals to wreath making, if you’ve been wanting to get hands on with a creative activity, there’s no better time than now.
Seasonal Seed Wreath Workshop at Railyard Arts Studio
In this workshop you will learn how to make an edible seed wreath for wild birds using a fluted bundt pan. The bundt seed wreath you make will be an obvious gathering post for backyard birds. The wreath will elevate your outside fall decor and gather all the birds together while simultaneously providing much-needed seed ahead of the winter months. Sit back and bird watch from the comfort of your home. You might be surprised who comes to visit.

Fall floral design workshop with Sarah Coldwell of Honeybee Grove Flowers
Explore the foundations of form and texture when building your Thanksgiving centerpiece, and get advanced tips and tricks for taking your arrangement to the next level. The workshop includes design instruction, all floristry materials, ceramic vessel, and an autumn-inspired centerpiece to take home for your table.

Wreath making & mulled wine at Folkways Wines
Sip on Nordic Glögg while learning to build a nature-inspired wreath utilizing a lush selection of seasonal ingredients including local evergreens, berries, dried textural grasses, and other natural ephemera. Each participant will be able to take their creations home to adorn their doors and hearths in holiday fashion.

Fresh holiday wreath workshop with Christine Covino of Wild Iris Flower Truck
Join Yellow Studio on December 1 at 5:30pm at Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard in North Salem for a guided 90-minute fresh wreath workshop. Using the best assortment of locally-grown fresh cut greens, dried seasonal flowers and seed pods, and beautiful holiday ribbon, founder and farmer-florist of Wild Iris Flower Co. Christine Covino will lead a detailed demonstration on designing a handcrafted, nature-inspired holiday wreath.

Holiday wreath centerpiece workshop at Railyard Arts Studio
Create a beautiful floral piece with local designer Heather Maguire at the Railyard Arts Studio. Each attendee receives helpful instruction, techniques and tips for designing a beautiful seasonal arrangement. Using upscale, fresh-cut florals, ornamental branches, berries and other seasonal elements, participants will create a beautiful piece to take home. Light crudite/charcuterie will be served. BYOB.
