It's another busy fall weekend in North Salem and the surrounding area. Festivities abound, from an author talk at the Ruth Keeler Library to the 2nd annual North Salem Arts & Food Festival. Pequenakonck Elementary is hosting its annual Harvest Fair, the Ridgefield Library is holding its annual children's book fair, the Brewster, Katonah and South Salem Fire Departments all are hosting open houses and there is more than one music festival on the calendar. Toddlers can socialize while exploring the preserve that will be changing with the season. This program allows toddlers to walk at their own pace, stopping to explore along the way. The expansive meadow and felled oak tree are a wonderful spot to observe the changes they see in the landscape, fostering a keen awareness of seasons and the cycles of nature. It's time for our annual open house! Come down to KFD for fire truck rides, educational giveaways, try on some turnout gear and test out some tools. Don't forget to stay for our live fire demonstration toward the end of the day. Our friends from the NYS Police will be here with their vehicle rollover simulator. Enjoy the fall weather and some great music at the Bedford Music Festival! Hosted by destination 39.3, a newfound organization created to foster a greater sense of community in the Bedford area, the outdoor festival features performances from several local bands, with Grammy-nominated band Spin Doctors headlining the show. The Lewisboro Library is thrilled to have Living History Presenter Joe Ryan for this special celebration of the anniversary of the Revolutionary War.
