Fall events are in full swing in North Salem and the surrounding area. The North Salem Historical Society kicks off the weekend Friday evening with their fall fundraiser, held at the former Grant Schoolhouse. Preschoolers are invited to Ward Pound Ridge to learn about the nocturnal creatures who live all around us. There's also high school sports, an art museum evening, bluegrass music, a historical reenactment and so much more. Read on for our full roundup and start making your weekend plans.

An evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to benefit the North Salem Historical Society. Friday October 7th, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00pm at the Grant Schoolhouse. Now a private residence.
Tour the grounds and the first two floors of this historic structure that has seen several modifications over the years. Ruth Keeler Memorial Library
Join a fun and informal group of painters and artists, beginners and experienced, on Friday mornings at the library at 10:30 to work together. There is no instruction, and you can draw, paint or work in any medium you choose. You must bring your materials. There is no registration; just come. Learn about some of the interesting "Creatures of the Night" that live in nature around us as we take a 1-mile nature walk through some woods and meadows. This program will be led by Deanna Novak, a specialist in nature-based early education. Our friend "Hootie", the spectacled owl, will make an appearance at the end of the hike in the meadow.
