North Salem Central School District continues its search for a new superintendent
The North Salem Central School District is continuing its search for a new superintendent and invites community members to share their input about what they’re looking for from the person who will replace retiring superintendent Dr. Ken Freeston following the 2022-2023 school year.
The district retained Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, an educational consulting firm that assists school districts with executive search, to conduct North Salem’s superintendent search.
Earlier this month, the district sent an online survey to parents, staff and community members. The survey asked respondents for their perceptions of the district and the importance of various characteristics found in effective superintendents.
On Tuesday, September 20, the district will host two community listening sessions to solicit feedback on qualities that attendees feel are important in the next superintendent. The sessions, which will be held via Zoom, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
