Ruth Keeler Library: Friday Painters - Fri Jul 22 10:30 am

Join a fun and informal group of painters and artists, beginners and experienced, on Friday mornings at the library at 10:30 to work together. There is no instruction and you can draw, paint or work in any medium you choose. You must bring your own materials.

Come to the Pleasantville Farmers Market July 23 to hear Mike Burns along with Richard Neal Mandolin. Banjo and guitar and David Dunaway Acoustic Bass will be playing some of Mike's award-winning songs along with with some old country blues numbers. Harvest Moon: Children's Seed Bomb Workshop

Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard invites Miss Mel back to the Farm for a FREE workshop for children! Your "future farmers" can take part in a hands-on, seed bomb-making workshop where they will be guided on how to create clay covered mounds of seeds that can be taken home to start their own flower patch! Railyard Arts Wet Feltmaking Workshop - Sat Jul 23 1:00 pm

Join textile artist, Christine Vogensen, for this Beginning Wet Feltmaking class. In this three hour class, students will learn how to combine merino wool, soap and water to create a colorful bowl. This is an active and hands-on class during which students will use their arms and shoulders to repeatedly roll and manipulate the wool (much like rolling out cookie dough.) Caramoor: Michael Gordon’s Field of Vision (World Premiere) - Sun Jul 24 4:00 pm

Bang on a Can composer Michael Gordon has produced a strikingly diverse body of work, ranging from major orchestral commissions to site-specific works in the wilderness, to surround-sound experiences like Decasia and Timber. Transcending categorization, his music tells stories about place and memory. Gordon’s Field of Vision is a large-scale site-specific work for Caramoor’s Sunken Garden and the surrounding field. [more details]
