Joan Strassmann will talk about her acclaimed new book, Slow Birding: The Art and Science of Enjoying the Birds in Your Own Backyard. Strassmann is an award-winning professor of biology and animal behavior o Washington University. This is not simply a guide to birds, she looks at their environment, history, and behaviors, and how they change with the season encouraging readers to slow down and appreciate the spectacular birds all around them.
